Chicken BBQ_꼬꼬 숯불 닭갈비

by runoiskorean 2024. 8. 29.

In Korea, chicken dishes are usually steamed or grilled with seasoning. But recently, I discovered a place near my home that serves grilled chicken similar to American-style chicken, inspired by Chuncheon’s famous dakgalbi, where the boneless chicken is grilled over charcoal.

I went there with a friend around 8 PM, so we weren't really that hungry.

We ordered two flavors: soy sauce and spicy. At first, the portion of chicken on the plate looked a bit small,

but as we ate, I was surprised by how filling it actually was.

We also ordered a side of doenjang jjigae, which is like Korean miso soup.

This wasn’t just any regular soup—it had a deep, spicy flavor, made with traditional Gangwon-do style homemade soybean paste, and it was absolutely delicious.

To finish off the meal, we ordered a special dish: grilled chicken neck. It was the perfect finale to our meal.

■ Location:
1st floor, 7 Geobukmaru-ro, Dongducheon-si, Gyeonggi-do

Parking:
The place opens after 5 PM, and while you can park on the street, I’d recommend taking a taxi for convenience.

Price Range:
For around $50, two people can try a variety of flavors.

Why You Should Visit This Place:
The food is great, but what really stands out is the friendliness of the owner and staff. Each side dish is made with care, and the vegetables and meat are super fresh.

I’m definitely planning to visit again soon!
