도봉구 방학동에 위치한 "포레스트 우드"에 다녀왔다.

I visited "Forest Wood" located in Banghak-dong, Dobong-gu.

파인다이닝이라는 아직 다소 생소한 컨셉의 식당
A restaurant with the concept of fine dining, which is still somewhat unfamiliar

 

무슨 음식을 먹을지 그냥 모르고 가는 식당이라는
A restaurant where you go without knowing what food to eat

미리 받은 생일 선물이란 상호 간의 협의로 몸만 아주 사뿐히 즐기고 왔다.
With a birthday gift I received in advance, I went there lightly

I enjoyed it.

 

 

메인 식전에 나오는 에피타이저부터 시작해 먹기에 아까운 너무나도 이쁜 음식들이 적당한 텀을 두고 제공되었다.
Start with appetizers served before the main course, beautiful dishes that are almost too good to

eat were served at appropriate intervals.

 

오마카세처럼 한 접시 한 접시 셰프의 음식에 대한 사랑과 자존심을 느낄 수 있었고 눈과 향으로 먹는다는 말이 무슨 뜻인지 직접 경험하게 해준 나의 첫 번째 식당임은 분명했다
Like an omakase, I could feel the chef's love and pride in each dish, and it made me understand what it means to eat with my eyes and nose. It was my first restaurant experience.

 

요알못이라 눈 감고 아무리 흑백 요리사 백종원님으로 빙의되길 노력하였으나

"맛있다"는 표현밖엔 뱉을 수 있는 수식어가 한정되어 있어

먹는 플레이트마다 감탄과 탄성 외에 매우 제한적인 요리 감상평을 만들지 못하는

내가 미워지는 식당이었다 그래도 한식은 꾀나 평에 익숙한데 말이다

As someone who knows little about cooking, I tried to channel Chef Baek Jong-won as much as I could with my eyes closed I tried hard, but the only expression I could use was "delicious," which limited my descriptions.

It’s a place that makes me feel frustrated for not being able to say more.

 

이 식당의 장점은 도봉구라는 다소 서울 중심지와 떨어져 있는 외곽 지역에 위치했음에도

어디 서울 한복판 꼭대기층에 위치한 업스케일 레스토랑의 퀄리티의 음식들을

아주 합리적인 가격에 즐길 수 있음이었고

요즘 고기뷔페, 치킨집, 찌개집 등 다소 멍들어 있는 나의 혀에 진짜 음식은 이런거야 알았지?

라고 한수 배움의 시간을 갖게해준 고마운 장소였다 
The advantage of this restaurant is that it offers upscale restaurant quality food at very reasonable prices in an outer area somewhat away from the center of Seoul, as well as teaching my somewhat dulled taste buds what good food is...It is undoubtedly a precious place that can provide such lessons.

입장한 순간부터 퇴장할때까지 쉐프의 세심한 배라가 고스란히 느껴졌던 귀한 식당

다음에 또 가게 된다면 사랑하는 그녀와 함께 가길 소망해본다
I hope to go again next time with my beloved.
