It's easy to find places that serve K-fried chicken.
In Seoul, I’m sure you can find K-fried checken house within 100 meters of wherever you are.
But if you're visiting Yeouido for work and want to try a special kind of K-fried chicken that's not from a chain restaurant,
I highly recommend this place!
It's quite famous among Koreans.
It's located near a TV station, so many celebrities go there regularly.
The place is a bit small, though. If you don’t get there right at 5 PM when it opens on weekdays, you might have to wait in line outside.
Also, there’s a time limit for eating inside, so you might have to eat a bit quickly, which is a bit of a downside.
When I visited, I ordered the fried chicken and a unique dish called “Chicken Tteokbokki.”
The fried chicken is quite salty, similar to the taste of KFC in the U.S., but it’s really tasty.
The coating is super crispy, and it makes a satisfying crunch with every bite.
If you take a bite with a sip of cold beer, you’ll taste the best umami flavor that fried chicken can offer. It’s strange because it’s salty, but you just can’t stop eating it!
After a bit, the Chicken Tteokbokki came out. It wasn’t the usual red, spicy K-style tteokbokki. Instead, it had a strong curry flavor, making it very unique. The dish had boneless chicken topped with tteokbokki and ramen noodles. If I had to describe it, I’d say it’s like a Korean version of Ttoowoomba pasta.
But again, it was salty—really salty—but still super tasty. We couldn’t stop eating.
My friend and I finished everything.
It’s not a place I’d go out of my way to visit, but if you’re in the area, you should definitely try it!
That’s it for my review of “The Farmer and the Chicken Village” fried chicken!
